Protocols will be updated as City and County regulations change

  • All dancers have the option to take class virtually or at the dance studio.

  • The number of participants in a class is limited. 

  • Physical Distance signs and spots are placed throughout the studio lobby and dance rooms. Each dancer is assigned a section of the center floor and ballet barre (if used).

  • Studio areas, ballet barres and the lobby are disinfected between each class.

  • The water station and bathrooms are sanitized hourly.  

  • Hand sanitizer is available for use throughout the dance studios and lobby area. 

  • The whole studio facility is cleaned nightly by our custodian staff. 

  • All staff and participants are not allowed into the facility if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19; have a fever of 100 degrees or higher, a frequent cough, difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, recent loss of taste or smell, or if they or someone they live with have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

  • All staff and dancers will have their temperature taken prior to going into the studio facility. 

  • All staff has been trained as of July 5, 2020. 

 

JPA PROTOCOLS FOR IN STUDIO CLASSES   

AS OF JULY 1, 2020

Dancers Taking Class at Studio

  1. Dancers MUST arrive 5 minutes before their scheduled dance class dressed in their dance attire. Dancers will wait in vehicles. Parents are not allowed inside the studio. Exceptions will be made for our Little Stars Program occurring in the Fall.    

  2. Staff will come out of the studio to indicate that dancers can come in the studio

  3. Dancers will line up outside the door, 6 feet apart. Parents can walk their dancer to the door and should wait until their dancer’s temperature is taken before leaving.

  4. The dancer will get their temperature taken and sanitize their hands at the door. 

  5. Dancers will be assigned a number that corresponds to a chair in the lobby and a section of the ballet barre. 

  6. Dancers will sit in their assigned chair and put on their dance shoes. Street shoes are to be placed into a separate bag that goes in the dancer’s dance bag. You can provide your dancer with this separate bag or JPA will provide one on the first day of class. 

  7. Dancers will gather all belongings in their dance bag and will sanitize their hands one more time prior to walking into the dance studio.

  8. Dancers will place their belongings on the floor under their assigned portion ballet barre. 

  9. Class will begin. Dancers will maintain physical distancing throughout the class.

  10. At the end of class, dancers will collect their belongings, return to their assigned chair in the lobby to change their shoes. 

  11. PARENTS MUST ARRIVE ON TIME TO PICK UP THEIR DANCER. All parents will wait outside of the studio on the 6 feet markers to wait for their dancer. Dancers will be sent out of the studio one at a time and will sanitize their hands on the way out. 

 

Reminders

  • ALL DANCERS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK UNLESS A MEDICAL CONDITION PROHIBITS THE USE OF A MASK.

  • The dance bag can only contain the dance shoes required for the day’s dance class and a water bottle. 

  • Students are encouraged to bring  a water bottle as our drinking fountain will be closed but our water bottle fill up station will be made available. 

  • Dancers MUST arrive dressed for dance class and a cover up may be worn.

  • Dancers should use the bathroom prior to coming to the studio facility. Bathrooms will be made available at the studio if needed.

  • NO FOOD IS ALLOWED TO BE BROUGHT INTO THE STUDIO FACILITY.
